Important Note: The press head is not compatible with the latest generation of new frame design KTM family off-road bikes, including the 2024 KTM 300 EXC TBI due to interference from the frame when installing the cups. A work around is to flip the press head around so that the cup sits flush on the press head. Care should be taken that the cup is driven in correctly as the press head is able to move off center. A new compatible press head will be offered soon.
The KTM/Husky HBPT is used to press in new bearing races to the frame when replacing steering headset bearings. The advantage of using the HBPT over a method such as hammering the races in is that the HBPT presses the bearing race into the frame straight, with no chance of the race becoming canted, minimizing the chance of damage. The HBPT will work on all full size KTM/Husky off road motorcycles (excludes latest gen 2023/24 framed models), including EXC, SX, XC, XC-W, FE, TE models and also 690/701 models. The HBPT can be used to install both lower and upper bearing races. Please contact us before purchase if you have any compatibility concerns. Each HBPT kit includes a base plate, race plate, threaded rod, 2 nuts and 2 washers.
